THE SHIFT TO USING THE PURE & FRESH ALOE VERA GEL IN ARUBA ALOE PRODUCTS By Henny Eman
1984
In 1984, the shareholders of Aruba Aloe Balm NV (Yan Tai Wong and the children of Jani) sold most of the shares to Henny Eman, one of Cornelis' grandchildren, who was a businessman and politician. He dramatically modernized the company and contracted a young physician from Holland, Dr. Koos Veel, to run the company, as well as Professor H.E. Junginger, Ph.D., head of the Pharmaceutical Technology Department of the University of Leiden at that time and world-renowned for his work in creams and lotions. This team started the research to re-evaluate the existing products and develop several new product lines. One of the first decisions was to focus on products made with the fresh Aloe vera gel rather than the previously used Alomucin concentrate. Around 1990, they had developed about 60 different high-quality cosmetic products.
